Locksmith could not program Tuscon. The retailer doesn't guarantee they can program it and still charges $90. If you buy a keyless remote through a dealer, there is still an additional charge for programming.

Tried to program it myself with a homemade programmer which I also bought, didn't work at all. Got a professional tool and programmed 3 in 5 minutes. You must program ALL the remotes you want to use at the same time, up to 4 remotes.

I was worried they wouldn't work as everywhere I looked there was a surcharge for key fob replacements. I was pleasantly surprised when I got them for my 2007 Tucson. I couldn't program them myself, but I could have a locksmith make them for $60 and they work great!

We received our keychain quickly. We took it to the locksmith the same day it arrived. $50 later we had a new key and working fob. It's worth it. I love the security Hyundai offers by only having keyfobs with locksmith software. Thank you! The locksmith had no problems.

I knew it needed a locksmith, it's important that you do too; My Elantra in particular is a 2007 and I'm not sure if there are later models or not. But other than that it's a great fob, works like a charm and the battery lasts three months without having to wait for a replacement anytime soon (I've had plenty of secondary fobs and batteries have been dying like flies, this one is an exception)
