If the best Chiman around programmed it, the key would start the car, open the door manually, the buttons didn't work, it couldn't be programmed.

I have been told that some 3rd party keys will not sync to the car. I took it to the dealer and they said everything works great no problems. I have only used the key once as it is a spare key.

The key is programmed to start the vehicle but cannot be programmed to open the vehicle remotely. Because of this, if you just want a spare key, it's okay. But if you need a remote control to open the car, go elsewhere.

We received this key as a replacement for our last Escape purchase. "Fully tested," they say, but after spending $70 at our local Ford dealership to have it programmed, we all find that the key fob is dead, dead, dead. At least the metal part still works.

Very good for the price. However, my local key dealer did not make the key as it is not a Ford OME. It was ok, I just wanted a keychain anyway. I cut off the key part with a Dremmel tool. Programming the key fob was easy. If you wish to cut the key contact your locksmith, obviously not everyone will cut your spare key. To program the 3rd and 4th keys you will need BOTH original keys that came with your Ford.

Purchased because my keys got wet and my 2017 Ford Escape SE would not start, lock or unlock. I saw this and thought it was a great price and look. The description even states that it was a spare part number for a broken key. After ordering, I took it to a local locksmith who hired Ford to cut and program it. couldn't. Upon closer inspection, the chip in this replacement doesn't look like the others. Now I have 2 cut keys that don't work.
