Not what I expected

If you want to replace the case you don't have this key. The blade is in place and cannot be moved. doesn't work if you just want to change the case

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Compatibility

Replacing the back of the key fob - fits perfectly

is slightly wrinkled where the screw broke. This back cover fits perfectly. It should be noted that there is no Lexus icon here; doesn't matter because the price was right. The actual key piece is longer than the original; that I haven't used. For replacing a broken back this is perfect.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • The back of the case

Just in case... when MDing

Replacement needed for metal detection I got the idea after reading a hobby book, The Metal Detector Guide by Steve Cormier, it was a good read to learn from and a great hobby refresher. Spending some free time in the outback was a great idea... Thank you.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Not bad

The product corresponds to the ad. Save yourself from a broken heart.

Product as advertised. Save yourself the heartache of realizing no one is going to cut that key for you. Unfortunately I had to go to the dealer to get a new key and I couldn't return it for free or how much the shipping was compared to the price of this key. SMS

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Difficult to say

I bought this item to try and save my master.

I bought this item to try and salvage my master key from my ES330, although in theory this key should have worked, my key broke so bad the blade itself could still be salvaged and I was hoping that with this key I could replace both the electronics and the blade. Unfortunately, the key blade is firmly attached to this. The return process went well and I am now awaiting a refund.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Some small things

Not a perfect product. The screw that comes with the key.

Product not perfect. screw hole. If you push in too hard, the screw head will break off. Special care must be taken with the key as the material is fragile. The plastic case breaks easily if not handled with care. $30 for key cutting and $12 for clipping is still cheaper than the $120 quoted by the dealer.

Pros
  • The key blade is NOT removable, the key blade needs to be cut off for your car (the original blade cannot be reused, this new key needs to be cut off)
Cons
  • socket required

Button module does not fit properly

The problem is not to shorten the key, there are services for this on ebay, and my Lexus dealer cuts it for $ 25. The problem with the key is that the electronics don't fit properly. When the button module is inserted into the device (on my 2006 RX key) the back no longer fits completely. As a result, I had to use a small zipper on the looped end of the key to secure it. In addition, the workpiece is too wide. To fit it in the lock I had to grind both sides of the key.

Pros
  • Ideal for repairing or replacing an existing remote control. Reprogramming is not required. Simply install existing electronics, cut and use!
Cons
  • There are nuances

Great for replacing a broken key back

Used to replace the back of a key fob that broke on our '08 Lexus RX 350 key. It was ideal for accommodating all OEM components. The only thing, at least for my key, is that you have to use the original screw. The supplied screw that came with the replacement had a different thread than it looked and didn't go in. So I reused the original screw with no problems. I compared the thickness of the key by superimposing them. The thickness was correct but I can't confirm the cut and actual use as Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Replaces HYQ-12BBT, HYQ1512V, HYQ12BBT
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Poor quality: keyless entry systems

I bought two spare keys with shells. My car is a 2005 Lexus 330 ES with a poorly designed plastic body, so I've changed it for the fourth or fifth time. Looked good so I got a key for $32. Brought it home but didn't help. The hole holding the tiny screw was unthreaded. I took the second key to the store and paid another $32. We found that the case wasn't large enough to fully close it with the chip and battery in place. I have verified that all my order information is correct. So I lost $64+โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Spare key shell, back cover and screw Electronics not included
Cons
  • Hard to tell
