Exactly what I wanted for my child's books. Withstands a lot more than you think and is durable. I warn you, it's quite difficult to assemble it alone. Get help holding the horizontal bars while you screw them into the sides. When you screw on the second side, the bottom bars may not seem long enough, but the piece of wood that goes horizontally helps bring them closer together.

While it's nice and will work - the screws we received were pointless (like a blunt end). It was impossible to assemble them without breaking the screws and then we had to use a wrench to finish them because the stripped screws left big scratches. We're not sure if the pilot holes were part of the problem. It has received so many positive reviews that I am willing to assume we have faulty parts, but save yourself the hassle and double check before reassembling.

Love this bookshelf. I found the price of 32 very cheap compared to others and it is KidKraft which is a very well known brand. We have other children's furniture from this brand. I had a regular bookshelf for my daughter's playroom, but I found that she rarely used it because she had a hard time reaching any of it. This is perfect for my 3 year old. I bought this for my 7 month old daughter's room to keep her books in order. I read and ignored the previous review and bought this bookshelf anyway. What can I say? It fit in her room! My experience was flawless. It took a little while to ship, but I was able to assemble it without any problems. I'm a single mom, I don't have a power tool and I have acrylic nails that weren't damaged during assembly.
