So we have a hanging bookshelf, not one that can stack books because we figured our toddler wouldn't try to climb the bookshelf with the trailer. We were wrong. She tried to climb it many times. It wasn't a problem until she gained 40 pounds and tried to scale it. It looks like 40lbs is the weight limit for these rods because one of them broke before I could get to it in time to stop it climbing! We were able to fix it as it only had a small tear. But he lasted 2 years before something broke inside him. That doesn't sound so bad for children's furniture, especially at this price point. Very easy to assemble. Took me less than 20 minutes. Holds a lot of books, especially those little cardboard books. The pastel version looks adorable in a little girls room.
