waste of money! Falling apart

This stool is made of pressed wood and falls apart. It's hard to put together and just not worth the money. We had to completely redesign it, adding support bars and gorilla glue and replacing it with real wood.

Looks good but tedious to assemble.

I have mixed feelings. It looks good in the corner where I hid it, but it wasn't easy to assemble because of the cheap materials. Whoever made it didn't bother to line up some of the holes. It was kind of a mess. Well it was cheap.

Cheesy at best.: Furniture

The wood here is very cheap. When I hand-tightened a screw, I heard a slight crunch and the wood cracked. Not in a critical spot, but still annoying when it shouldn't have cracked so easily. It's also all a bit shaky. Since these are all pre-drilled holes, they should line up much better than they do now. It's strong enough for a small child but not very comfortable for me. Not the quality I expect from KidKraft.

Very happy! - Furniture

I just LOVE this step stool! The color was perfect. It was easy to assemble and feels very solid. We have had this item for almost 6 months now and the exuberant 2 year old has climbed on it, trampled on it, pushed it around the house several times a day, used it to store books and toys and I'm really amazed at how well this little stool held up without staggering or even scratching too much! I really don't see any scratches unless I look up close at the steps (there aren't many of them). I…

The pieces didn't fit together

During assembly (which was very easy) I noticed that the vertical piece in the center of the stool (behind the bottom step) was about a full inch shorter. The screws on either side were not long enough to attach the stool properly. I had to screw one side all the way in and then buy another screw from my local hardware store that had to go through an inch gap to get it right. Otherwise a well made, well constructed stool. I did not contact the company as my repairs made the stool solid and the…

Be patient when assembling and this is a good step for toddlers

This is a good step for toddlers with fine workmanship and storage box. But it requires assembly and patience when assembling as well as caution when tightening the screws. I read a review that said it was smaller than expected, but this is a toddler step and that's the size I would like. Our kid uses it to access the bathroom sink to wash his hands and brush his teeth. Two steps make the descent a bit more difficult than one step, and the shiny surface allows water to pool on the steps and try

Beautiful appearance, reliable, easy to assemble.

This stool is exactly what I wanted. The only gripe I would take with me is that I wasn't expecting such a large build. It probably took around 20-25 minutes (with a toddler in the mix). I didn't know there would even be a gathering, so I was quite hesitant at first. However, the assembly instructions were crystal clear and the components and hardware labeled better than anything I've ever assembled. Good job KidKraft - now you have a way to pack ahead so busy moms don't have to! For the price…

Good stool, best furniture item

This is a very nice stool and the opening area is good for my husband's magazines. I bought this for my daughter to have access to the toilet and sink with the intention that the bottom step would be for the toilet. Unfortunately the bottom step is not deep enough for my 3.5 year old daughter's foot and the top step is too high for her to easily go to the bathroom. So the functionality I was hoping for from this stool is not enough for her to go to the toilet by herself. The chair drew me in…
