Try Best USB Network Adapters Beta

It was a tough start. I have a brand new 11th gen i7 so I'm pretty sure the driver needs to be updated. But after installing the beta I have about 200MB over my limit. I have Xfinity Giga and get around 12-1300. I don't play, just wanted to see if it would help with streaming and yes it did, and very well.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Easy maintainability

USB disconnects/reconnects several times a day

This adapter worked fine initially, but after a few weeks it started randomly disconnecting and reconnecting several times a day, causing a series of annoying Windows USB USB noises caused. I ended up returning it and got a PCIe NIC instead.

Pros
  • Brilliant done
Cons

Worst: Networking Products

I bought this along with TRENDnet and Pluggable 2.5GbE USB to Ethernet adapters. This is the only thing that gave me a headache due to the bloated driver installation process, random shutdowns, and occasional CPU spikes that caused my downstream download to stall. I've tried both beta and non-beta drivers. The killer adapter was the only one that gave me problems.

Pros
  • Handsfree

This time it was Challenge

At first everything went ok, I connected the device and installed the driver for it. But then I get BSOD issue and it was Driver_Power_State_Failure. At first I got fed up with disconnecting all my USBs but still losing connection, then I checked the app and it didn't seem to be responding that well, so I uninstalled it and just used the Killer E3100 without the app. :-)

Pros
  • Then I bought
Cons
  • Big and clumsy

Lightweight dongle, doesn't throttle speeds

This little dongle comes in handy when used with the Killer 1650 adapter. You can pair it with the Doubleshot Pro and control what streams over WiFi and what over wired connections. The software is easy to install from their website. Keep in mind that Killer products are designed to prioritize certain activities, like gaming, to ensure low latency and prevent other things from limiting your experience.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Makes me angry
