Home Essentials AL

After a recent renovation and new lights, I found these connectors (and their two-wire counterpart) to be indispensable for working with aluminum wiring in my home. I use an Oslatools torque wrench for proper tightening (required for these connectors). They are a bit more expensive but worth it. Many of the joints I made with it were later sealed with sheathing/siding and will never be exposed again in my life. In these conditions you really have to rely on good connectors.

Pros
  • Hands-Free Operation
Cons
  • Some Flaws

Stop using purple nuts

This is the most convenient and reliable aluminum to copper connector I have ever used. You can be assured of a reliable connection, indirectly through a device that does not allow fire. And if you somehow manage not to tighten the connector tight enough, it will melt into (individual) wires and smother any resulting flames. This works by inserting each wire into a separate niche and tightening it with a screw on the connector frame. Each niche has a corresponding conductive slime. They thenโ€ฆ

BEST Approved Aluminum Wire Connector

I've been an Electrician and Contractor for over 35 years. It is the safest, easiest to use and most reliable aluminum wire connector available today. They're a little bulky, but with careful use, they can be used in most situations. If necessary, replace the small J-Box with a new, larger plastic box. It's worth the effort. I would like to see the price go down a bit because it discourages low income people from using them and they are the most vulnerable to the loss of homes and lives due toโ€ฆ

Aluminum and copper can now pair well with each other.

First it's work. I had an outdoor light with aluminum wiring connected to copper Rolex and it flickered in cold temperatures. After checking all the connections and finding nothing wrong, I read that aluminum and copper can cause problems and these connectors can solve them. Of course, using them instead of standard wire nuts solves the problem. I only gave them 4 stars because they seem expensive for what they are. However, they are well made, offer a solid connection and even include silicone

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Slim

Protect yourself and your customers

A torque screwdriver is required for correct assembly. Protect your liability and your customers' assets. What many don't know is that insurance companies can substitute building codes in their policy requirements. Whilst purple wire nuts have for many years been approved for AU/CU connections by the NEC along with building departments in many local authorities, many insurance companies will NOT approve them and in the event of an electrical fire their use may be grounds for a denial of aโ€ฆ

The purple connectors served their purpose

There are places in my house, behind the walls and in the attic, where my wires are connected. Places where the bare ends of copper wires are twisted around delicate aluminum cable lugs. We learned about this when we hired someone to check for problems in our new home. The man said that copper-aluminum connections must be done with respect and care (otherwise my wife, who is already 30 years old, will file for divorce), literally only with the 3-port aluminum-copper (10 pieces) King Innovationโ€ฆ
