CAUTION - KNOW YOUR SATELLITE BOW BEFORE YOU BUY

Thought it would work for us while rear driving in South Carolina. The DISH network tells us that this satellite can ONLY be used to receive "Western Arc" satellites. Which we definitely don't have in SC, which appears to be in the "Eastern Arc" for satellite reception. BEWARE. Nowhere in the description of this product on the site are Western and Eastern Arc satellites mentioned. We'll return for a refund.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Older model

Disappointing Best TV Antenna

We have had this satellite dish for about 6 weeks now. We have to unplug and restart every time we watch TV. Keep losing satellites. There are always no channels and receivers are tuned to all our channels. We changed coaxial cables (rg6) several times because we thought we had bad cables. If the main receiver is not turned on, the secondary receiver will not receive power. We are not at all satisfied with this product.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Be warned - read my experience with this satellite dish

Purchased about a year ago along with the receiver kit. There were problems with it from the start. Only a few times did I receive ALL channels, even with a clear view of the southern sky. He always had great difficulty capturing the HD satellites (I think 129). Too often the default is SD. These days Fox, CNN, Food Network and HGTV are all volatile and falling apart even under sunny skies. I'm literally a very unlucky tourist - I live in an RV. Reception is the same in almost every western…

Dish hardware is fine. If you can figure out the installer software

I bought my Dish Tailgater Pro in October 2019 and unfortunately couldn't use it so it sat in my cupboard until 3/28/2020 Activate two Wally receivers that I - $2 to $7 per month (pay as you go?) - on my home dish account. I wanted to know what they were doing before I went camping. I hooked up the first one to the TailgaterPro and my home TV and everything seemed fine with the setup BEFORE restarting and checking when it tried to re-download the software which then seemed to hang. 20 minutes…

Pros
  • Antennas
Cons
  • Only available in black

I have been making tableware by hand for many years. Wow, I would have wished for that years ago. Here are some timings using the Wally's Dish Receiver: Wally's boot time from the moment the power cord is plugged in is about 1 1/2 minutes. Align the dish and receive satellites - about 1 minute. Wally Acquire signal - about 3 minutes. Wally's Guide to Taking - Approximately 2 minutes. Note that the only additional time compared to reloading using the fixed pre-aimed dish 1002 is a 1 minute hover

Pros
  • Audio and video accessories
Cons
  • Expensive
