I had peeled my medium sweet onion 3 good layers under the skin and the guide still just bit into the onion and didn't bend around when inserted. Bottom line: If you want to fry a 2-inch onion, this might be a smart move. If the lightbulb is bigger than the microdwarf you live in, don't waste your money.
