KitchenAid Asteroid Cotton Mitts Silicone Kitchen & Dining Review

I love these oven mitts, they are even better than I expected. They are the perfect color (just like the picture, very accurate), the size is perfect and the KitchenAid brand is the perfect match for our kitchen. They are functional, handy and fashionable at the same time. They are correctly priced which is excellent value for a well known brand. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for the perfect oven mitts, I will definitely be buying oven mitts and kitchen towels to match.

Wow the moment I opened the package and tried them I knew they were fake. First, the texture is spiky and thin. I bake bread at 500F, this does NOT protect my hand when removing the pans. Second, I already have a KitchenAid (see photo: they are very dirty and worn) and just wanted to replace a pair. Anything from an obviously fake label to an irregularly shaped glove. The color is cute and that's what made me want to buy these. Don't buy it is actually dangerous to use.

I don't know why I didn't think of silicone pot holders before. I have handleless baking pans and trying to lift them out of the oven with my old cloth gloves was difficult and dangerous. I was ready to buy new cookware, but instead I thought of these - ooh! I have medium sized hands for a woman and they fit well. Not too big for me as some reviewers said. Although very well made, these pot holders are designed for people with small hands and short thumbs. I wear large gloves which are usually roomy for me but these are too small for my hands. And to make matters worse, the thumb on the potholder is only about 2 inches long. Try wrapping the thumb of the oven mitt around the baking sheet to get it out of the oven - not good at all. I ordered these and a couple of mug towels as I wanted to find out what the KitchenAide blue is when I ordered an assortment but nobody has a pattern first not even roughly the same blue of all that and the cup towels so it didn't help but I figured I could use mittens at least. I bought yellow mittens and oven mitts. The color was bright and beautiful but I liked the products on this one. I felt safe buying kitchen items, but the usual quality standards didn't apply to these items. I got burned twice because there is no insulation and the silicone dots on the outside only cover half the length of the glove.
