The first day of using this can opener there were complaints from family members but it served its purpose and I just thought they were being picky. Until evening. Just a few weeks later, on the street, the return window was ripped off when an attempt was made to open a jar of olives. This one has been used less than 100 times so that's a pretty short lifespan for a can opener. Don't waste your money on it. OK, something better.

Handle cut off after 10 uses. Low quality. Very disappointing! I had to use a vise to open the cans. I ordered the Revain Basics brand and they can't ship fast enough. My wife is having a seizure because this KitchenAid is junk and because we have to use vise handles on the can opener until a new one comes along - her parents are visiting and it doesn't look good and her father (my father-in-law) is complaining relentlessly about that stupid can opener . Merry Christmas.

It took me two months to find the courage to write this review. First, I used this thing once. That was it, only one use and the torque was too much for my weak hand. It broke. Metal-on-plastic construction is a big no-no. So he stood on my counter for a month and slapped me in the face with his horror. In the meantime, I've been able to open other cans the old-fashioned way (with a hammer). My cat has been missing for a month possibly due to the sadness she felt after spending a month…

I bought this opener to replace my old KitchenAid opener (this style is no longer available - this one seems the closest to what I had get). I opened two cans, one 32 oz, one 7 oz. In both cases, the opener did not cut cleanly, leaving two uncut marks on each can. No number of passes over these spots will result in the wheel cutting itself. I had to open them and nearly cut myself. Oddly enough, in both cases the "dead zones" were at the edge at 10 and 2 o'clock. The cans were different sizes…
