Bought as a gift. I am sure after seeing it unfolded that they have been restored. There was a small dent on the stainless steel bowl and there were fingerprints on the blender right out of the sealed box. I hate that they don't advertise that they have been restored. There's nothing wrong with buying a refurbished blender, but promote the truth and let people decide for themselves.

Just because there have been many reports of grayscale in recent years doesn't speak to KitchenAid's ability to address quality control issues.
