Description of 💪 The Ultimate Powerhouse: Klein Tools 80020 Linemans Induction - Unleash Unmatched Performance!
Pliers Tool Kit includes 3 of the most popular pliers. Lineman's Pliers, New England Nose, 9-Inch (Cat. No. D213-9NE) with high-leverage design puts the rivet closer to the cutting edge for 46-Percent greater cutting and gripping power than other plier designs. Hot-riveted joint ensures smooth action and no handle wobble. Diagonal Cutting Pliers, 8-Inch (Cat. No. D2288) with high-leverage design puts the rivet closer to the cutting edge for 36-Percent greater cutting power than other plier designs. Short jaws and beveled cutting edges permit close cutting of wire. Pliers, Long Nose Side-Cutters, 8-Inch (Cat. No. D2038) with a heavier design that gives greater cutting power. Extended handles provide added reach and leverage.
The fit and finish is pretty mediocre, the black oxide coating is above average but the cosmetic finish on the jaws is very rough and doesn't look like a good tool, they should be at least a smooth finish with a higher grain. The jaws align well and they are quite durable. The rivet hinge feels a bit rough and stiff in its fully open position.
As seen in the first photo, the jaws were misaligned. Pliers will work in most cases but not for fine trimming the tips of thin flat pieces as shown in the 2nd photo. Proper quality control cannot be avoided with offset pliers in this price range. I have not returned them due to time and hassle, and because I will be using them primarily for cutting wire near the hinge, which they should do satisfactorily.
They arrived clean and well greased in a strong but easy to open clam shell. The blades are sharp and well aligned, the clearance in the pliers is correct and the handles don't wobble. The wires are cut cleanly and the grips are very comfortable. Yes, yes, you can pick up any hardware store made in China for $20, but the quality of the steel and how well the tips and edges match up on all of these tops. The fact that they're made right here in the USA makes them worth every penny.
I've heard good things about Klein. These statements are usually true. I bought these dams for general work but they let me down a bit. My only complaint comes from the wobble of the grip. They cut well but the handles dangle a bit. Maybe a sixteenth of an inch of movement at the ends of the handles. That means they don't fit perfectly when closed. I'm afraid that will dull the blade. I have Klein Linesman pliers and have not had this problem. I don't know if it was just an accident but I'm a…
Nothing special. We've been using it for about a year now and it works like new. I'm a Marine mechanic (not US Marine) and use them daily. It is used for cutting electrical wires and cables, hard and soft cotter pins, cable ties and shifting cable cores. Jaws like new. Used the channel block for years until my last good pair was gone. Bought 3 pairs of brand new CL shoes, none of which lasted a week until the front hem broke off. The 3rd pair was not used for anything other than copper wire and
I would like to start by saying that I usually love Knipex tools, especially side cutters and pliers. However, these little ones are absolutely in the same quality category as knipex. They feel a little less "precise" and a little "tougher" than the Knipex, although that's not to say they're all American iron. The jaws are all perfectly aligned and the opening is smooth as silk and it's clear it took them time to hot rivet these tools. The handles are thick and we'll be sticking with that, I…
Pros
Rivet connection for smooth operation and no handle wobble
I have two pairs of these wire cutters, one is about six years old and is in my main toolbox while its identical twin which I just ordered from Revain is in my bike repair toolbox. The couple of six have numerous metal threads cut plastic ties and he's just as good today as he was six years ago. Since children's toys are often tied to ziplock packages, I always get my trusty pair out when Christmas morning gets to my son. I've also used these pliers for everything from telescope repairs to…
Pros
New England 9" Needle Nose Pliers (Item # D213-9NE) with high leverage brings the rivet closer to the cutting edge and provides 46 percent better cutting and gripping power than pliers of other designs
I bought these from Revain about two years ago, mainly for electrical work (cable cutting) and also because the handles were longer than my old pair (unbranded) and I could fit more Effort in the cutting jaws. The cutting head is small, but the opening of the jaws is more than adequate for whatever work the knives are intended for. The handles have a very comfortable design and never hurt your hands even when squeezed hard. I am not a trader so they are not used in daily use and sometimes they…
