Highly recommended: Home Audio

Much better than just drywalling the speaker. It offers better rigidity and controlled volume. Also, it gives the drywall builder a good template to work with. Definitely worth it if you can afford the luxury of going in before the drywall.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

5 Stars New Construction Only

Too bad Klipsch doesn't offer these for finished ceilings. I bought 4 of these for my Atmos setup. I had to cut the flanges on the sides to fit between the attic joists (very tight fit). Since there is no room for error, I had to be very careful when cutting out the hole for the speaker. However, these are excellent cases. They make your ceiling speakers sound a lot better. They prevent noise from filling your attic. They are also insulated and fireproof. Great product well worth the hassle.

Pros
  • Enjoy
Cons
  • No Performance

These boxes made it very easy to install the 8 inch Klipsch speaker. The catch is that you can't install them by cutting out a piece of the ceiling, you have to secure the edges of the box with pins in the middle. But once you do this, it really seems to help hold the sound tight. (My only other comparison is when I tested the speaker when I took it out of the box.) Wiring is very simple, a single hole plug is included. The case is durable and meets fire safety requirements. I would say it was…

Pros
  • Great selection

  • Nothing here

Protects your investment

I bought 2 of these for a Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 setup and I think they are great for protecting your overhead speaker investment from dust, insulation, critters etc . Also, I don't like the idea of my speakers being held to the ceiling with just 4 drywall dog/screw clips, so I found the steel casing and increased surface pressure area to be a huge plus. The one-page, one-page instructions were very easy, and the only hardware included is a wire-clamp connector that you insert into one of the two…

  • Cool

  • Pretty much everything is fine
