Well I originally bought this for our projector because we needed to balance it on the couch in front of the stand. With the stand we no longer have to try to get the picture straight or hope one of the dogs doesn't knock it over because this stand is very educational and very easy to adjust to any height you want. I'm a very technical guy and a mobile DJ and I use stuff like that a lot. I tried to use it mainly for laptop storage. Huge problem. I rotate the legs below to fix the height. Ok so I like this stand concept to put my laptop outside when using my telescope to view the camera etc. I've also read other reviews about the weight slip issue. I took a chance, and as soon as it arrived I installed it and put an old Dell E1505 laptop (heavy!) on top of it.
