The velcro cover for the bottom can even be used to store light items, but in my mirror I could see some ripples on the velcro, so I just took that cover off and put tape over the area where the velcro was gaping a bit Wood so I wouldn't see black velcro if you look at it from a distance. I have a king size bed with an Eloquence bench at the foot of the bed. Unfortunately, a pipe in the ceiling burst during a winter storm in 2021 and fell on the bench. Instead of spending ten times more I decided to replace it with this wonderful bench. It's not that long and allows me to put my dog's ladder right next to it. It was easy to assemble.
