Great hand tool cutter

Excellent for cutting nails (hardened steel/bolts etc) due to the tremendous leverage the length of the handle provides. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Minor issues

knipex good on hand tool

best hand tool for flush cutting of thin steel nails, wires and fasteners. Knipex tools are my personal favorite among pliers and small bits for electrical work.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Almost OK

Also great for pulling nails

Great for pulling nails If they won't pull out just cut off the head and insert to put a screw next to it to secure, what the nail can't do. I use them on my metal roof that has been nailed down and the nails are coming loose. The compact head fits the bellows better than any other tool I've tried.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Interval

Bigger is better when it comes to hand tools

Much longer than my last pair of Knipex nail pullers, to the point that they fit uncomfortably in my carpentry bags, but all that extra handle length means a lot of extra leverage, meaning they are much easier to use and give better results. I think they also flush a little more than my shorter pair, so that's another plus.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Some little things

High quality hardened steel pliers

I bought these pliers to trim nail heads and save the steel sheathing on an old barn. I'm sure this project will wear them down completely, but the edge doesn't chip like cheap Chinese wire cutters, and they cut nailheads with little what I would call moderate force. Cheap definitely becomes expensive when it comes to hardened steel cutting tools. Also more frustrating.

Pros
  • Hands free work
Cons
  • New competitors

Knipex is the best!

Other brands of tweezers (Channellock, Klein, Irwin) just don't last as long. Knipex is made of higher steel. I work 80 hours a week making rebars and they last about 4 months (compared to <1 month for other brands!). Knipex HIGH LEVERAGE clippers are hard to find in North American stores. A few wear them, but usually not high level, and if so, most sizes/styles are often unavailable. Ordered from Revain, got the right size and grips, saved $20.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

I bought this tool to trim the ends of nails and various small diameter metalwork. Don't give up this tool because of its cost. They are likely made from scrap tool steel, cold rolled and hardened, meaning Kinipex cutters are made from a tougher steel than the steel they cut. Snip, and the metal was surgically removed almost effortlessly. I wish my other wood and metal cutting tools were just as good. I'll check what tools Knipex makes if I need to buy another cutting tool. Costs money. Keep it

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Hard to tell

This item is great for working with old nails and screws. It grabs and pulls nails much better than a clawed hammer or nail puller, or cuts them off with one hand. He can grab the screws and even unscrew or cut the plug with one hand. Not *completely* flush cut - maybe a 1/16" stub left, but 95% of the time when I'm grabbing a nail instead of cutting it, I'll pry it sideways and pull it out. Amazing to remove shit sticking out of nails and screws from how to remove the ceiling and prepare new…

Pros
  • Good for business, household or service needs
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Very strong, excellent cut

I bought these to cut 12 gauge stainless steel quilting needles at work. They cut like butter. I originally had a pair of blue handle 8 inch brands they cut well but they are worn out. I then tried replacing them with 10 inch yellow handle models thinking they would certainly be better given they are a big brand and such but I was wrong. I couldn't cut them with all my might so I returned them for a pair of these and they are the best I've had to date. Hope that helps. I originally posted a…

Pros
  • World's #1 choice for sellers
Cons
  • Expensive

Knipex makes some of the finest hand tools in the world. I have 8-10 pairs of their pliers and wire cutters and they are all excellent quality. They're not cheap, but when I'm working and the tool goes on vacation, I'm not happy. Pros: - Long handles at 12", lots of leverage - German forged quality - Fits easily in my tool bag and toolbox - Can cut 12p nails and work like a pulled nail - Great tools reward the user with great results, and when people see your tools are of high quality it is a…
