Solenoid failed after 6 days

Solenoid failed after 6 days. Up to 8 ohms. inner shorts. I can read it on the scanner. Replacing this solenoid takes 4 hours and is very expensive on the fluid if you get the job done. I need to get a replacement first. I will not buy another one and will keep my gearbox for 10 days.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Band

DO NOT BUY! died 1 month later!

Tricky job but the magnet works. The magnet they show in the pictures is black, just like the OEM part they sent was brown. It's a shame considering the version they sent is available on eBay for $50. EDIT: After 1000 miles and 1 month all warning lights came on again. This is crappy Chinese build quality and will waste hours of your time. STAY AWAY!

Worth the cost. on Transmissions & Parts

Used on my 2015 Subaru WRX CVT. Fits perfectly. Right ohms. Super easy to install item. It came to a difficult end. If you have a Subaru CVT that is giving code P2763, then this is a problem. If you take it to Subaru after warranty, it'll cost you $1,500. After that part, fluids and gaskets, it cost me $400. It's worth it if you can handle a lot when the time is up. Update: It's been over a year and it's still working great. No questions.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Requires power outlet

Let's fix it for a hot minute.

Bought twice. 2015 Subaru Forester XT cleared trance code P2757, replaced worn out solenoid with this one. Driven 2k with no problems. I then received code P2764, ordered this part again and replaced it with a replacement unit. The first swap showed 12 ohms before installation and 0 ohms when removed. 2 days ago finished work for the second time and code P2757 is back. It's not about the time it takes to get the job done, it's the fact that I've already spent $300 on CVT fluid. I would advise…

This is a game you can lose.

Installed this on my Impreza with a TR580 transmission which set up a code P2764 (Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Low). Installed this unit on 11/06/21 in the valve body and within a day after gave a new code, but one that all also relates to the same solenoid: P2762 (low power torque converter clutch pressure control solenoid valve control circuit). and installed it today (6/14/21) Some people have success and some don't. If you have time to play around and…

Best Buy At Transmission & Transmission

My wife drives a 2013 Subaru Impreza with a TR580 CVT automatic transmission. I bought this part after the car had a P2764 DTC (Torque Converter Lockup Solenoid Fault). Subaru will not sell you the solenoid to fix this problem themselves. They want you to buy the entire transmission valve body for about $800. After researching this issue online. I found this solenoid. After several hours of installation and assembly, this not only solved the problem but also saved me about $700 per part and…
