Many here have already said that this scanner is not a professional tool. If you're scanning 110 or 126 film from an Instamatic camera of the day and don't want to make large prints, this scanner is probably fine. But if you're trying to save Grandpa's 35mm Kodachrome, this scanner doesn't do them justice. If you are making larger prints, the imperfections of this scanner may be visible in those prints. However, this thing is silly easy to use, pretty fast, and the build quality is pretty good.

As a professional photographer and lab manager, I highly recommend this small desktop scanner. So many benefits, very few if any downsides for me. At work I have access to a fairly decent professional flatbed scanner that can handle transparencies, but work is work. I never find time to do my own scan.
