KOHLER 1278467 Replacement Component Review

Looks like a common aerator also used in Moen faucets. It is identical to the one in my Moen Brantford 6610 faucet. Moen lists this aerator as part 180158.

I had two broken aerators in my faucets that sprayed water in all directions. I decided to replace them under warranty but wanted to fix them at the same time. They arrived very quickly and were as easy as unscrewing the old ones and screwing the new ones back in. And voila, clear water!

I was looking for assembly instructions and found this part. Perfect for the blender! Now the flow of water from the faucet in the bathroom is back to normal! I used to buy a similar one from Home Depot but it doesn't fit at all. I strongly recommend buying the original. Before you buy, do your homework to save time :-)

Wow, it came quickly. Just wanted to let everyone know that this part comes with a plastic installation tool from Kohler. If you're not sure if this is the correct part number, Kohler has a great website where you can look up your faucet and see all the part numbers for it - similar to auto parts.

I bought 2 different faucets because I didn't know the model number of my bathroom faucet and it worked. It comes with an aerator and key so it was a good deal for the price. I posted a picture of my faucet and parts. The one in this set is pink on the inside and the one that didn't fit is blue. Happy with the purchase.

The water pressure on our bathroom sink has dropped a little more than a trickle. The supposed reason was construction. I removed the existing aerator and attempted to clean it. Vain. This solved the problem. I wish I knew these things come with an uninstall/install key. It would have saved me from making another purchase.

I managed to ruin my new faucet aerator trying to improve water flow. The part was listed as "no longer available" on the Kohler support page. Different aerators have different color removal keys and this one suited what I had and at a price I thought I would risk. I got lucky and this one fits perfectly. Plus it was a great price. If you need a replacement Kohler aerator and your current aerator key is green, I would recommend taking a chance and going with this one.

This is the aerator that comes with two Refinia faucets. None of them worked well. The creek was poorly aerated with any flow, often splitting the water into multiple streams that squirted to the sides. Assuming it was a bad batch, I ordered another 1278467 from Revain. That's exactly how he behaves. Since many customers are happy with it, I have to assume that some models work better than the Refinia fitting. But I definitely don't recommend it for Refinia. Get 1363455 instead. It works great.
