Description of 🌡️ KOOBOOK 5Pcs GY-BMP280-3.3 High Precision Digital Barometric Pressure Altitude Sensor Module for Atmospheric Pressure Sensing

It is an environmental sensor with temperature, barometric pressure that is the next generation upgrade to the BMP085/BMP180/BMP183. The BMP280 is an absolute barometric pressure sensor especially designed for mobile. This sensor is great for all sorts of weather sensing and can even be used in both I2C and SPI!. This precision sensor is the best low-cost, precision sensing solution for measuring barometric pressure with ±1 hPa absolute accuraccy, and temperature with ±1.0°C accuracy. Because pressure changes with altitude, and the pressure measurements are so good, you can also use it as an altimeter with ±1 .

Not compatible with ESPHome

Although this can work with Arduino IDE, it does not work with ESPhome or HA. The chip is defective and you cannot receive any data. Address must be [E][bmp280.sensor:102]: Communication with BMP280 failed!

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Security

Great Value for Security and Surveillance

These are great value for money and work great. It was my fault I didn't realize they DO NOT have a humidity sensor. If you're building a weather station and need humidity, this won't work. They delivered excellent pressure and temperature.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Modern

This is BMP280, not BME280

Does what it says on the box, make sure you get what you want. I was a curmudgeon and didn't quite understand the difference between BMP and BME, but that's on me. The product is great and works great the way it is. I upgraded my setup with AM2302 humidity modules and all is good.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • Expensive

Excellent solution for security and surveillance

This is a great price and works great. It was my fault I didn't realize they DO NOT have a humidity sensor. If you're building a weather station and need humidity, this won't work. They delivered excellent pressure and temperature.

Pros
  • This precision sensor is the best cost-effective precision solution for measuring barometric pressure with an absolute accuracy of ±1 hPa and temperature with an accuracy of ±1.0 °C.
Cons
  • Doubtful

It's a BMP280, not a BME280

Pros
  • Because pressure changes are so good at measuring altitude and pressure, you can also use it as an altimeter with an accuracy of ±1.

Probably not up to spec, but pretty close.

I tried several example programs for Arduino and none of them worked. I found that the received I2C address is 0x76. I made modifications to the Adafruit example and all five worked: if (!bmp.begin(0x76)) { // Omit 0x76 for standard I2C address 0x77. I ran all 5 and looked at the range of readings. They fell into 3 clusters; usually the difference between the extreme values is more than 280 Pa, which should not be the case with an absolute accuracy of 100 Pa, as stated in the data sheet. A…

Pros
  • This is an environmental temperature and barometric pressure sensor which is the next generation upgrade for BMP085/BMP180/BMP183.
Cons
