It has continued! Best in Teaching and Behavioral Aids

I've had it for almost 6 months, use it several times a day and am outside in all weathers; well kept! My dog couldn't get free and she can walk with her long enough.

Pros
  • Not just good for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Got a kink for leash and pegs

The leash got a kink, formed a weak point - the coating tore - then the wires started fraying at this point, then my dog ended up breaking through and it clicked. It took some time but not very long, maybe around 6 months. Might last longer if you're careful not to twist it.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Fits

Long Ties & Pegs

This leader is very strong but there are two problems with its construction. First, the clip ends do not rotate, making it easy for the dog to get tangled. Second, the clips appear to be laser cut and are very sharp, clipping a dog is easy to stab yourself with a metal burr.

Pros
  • Positive Only
Cons
  • Available in Black Only

Good quality. Could be upgraded to a vortex.

Love the length and coverage. Obviously it won't last a decade, but it worked well. My only concern is that the carabiner connection doesn't allow for rotation. When the leash is twisted, it twists on the dog's collar. Solved by installing a swivel.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Good, strong, maybe a little dangerous.

In general, a good screed. The hook itself can be a little tricky to attach to the leash, but it's solid. One big caveat: the hook itself has a point inside. When closed, the hook is secure. When it's open, it's a razor. I needed a hospital when my finger was in it, but because it's so sharp (clean cut) it was easy to tape/fix to get that old finger back.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember

Very strong but at the same time very heavy

Take the time to check reality. This cord is over 1/4" thick. Even a strong dog can have a hard time pulling on it, so make sure your yard is relatively free of obstructions and your dog really needs something that strong. My only real complaint is that the carabiner is so thick that it doesn't open wide enough to attach to a dog's collar. You can either replace the carabiner or use something to connect it to the collar.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Nearly Perfect in Tie-Outs & Stakes

I liked everything about it except that it's not mower proof. My gardener ran his industrial mower over it and loosened the cord just enough for my dog to snap. It took him a while to break it, but it's not the cable's fault. Actually, this review is for a REPLACEMENT cable. I liked it so much that I bought another one. My dog is an 80 pound German Shorthaired Pointer and she chases squirrels at top speed all day. He cannot break it without the help of the gardener, who now cuts it off beforeโ€ฆ

  • Handy Item
Cons
  • So Far So Good

Fits my Cattle Dog

We bought this for our newest Australian Cattle Dog while going to our family cabin in the woods. She has a very strong herding/hunting instinct so we were worried that if she was told to stop she would run away and ignore us. Once tied it was long enough for her to stay in the loop and even play a little with other dogs. He was strong enough to withstand her lunge and chew when frustrated. Overall it was very convenient to have with us and will accompany us on every trip.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Nothing here

Very strong and strong!

Love this cable! My 10 month old started jumping over a 4 foot fence (he has very long legs). We live in the mountains so it's not safe for him to leave our yard unattended. I bought this cord along with a stake and a handy hanger and so far it's doing a great job of keeping it in the garden. The cable is very robust and durable. He's also so fat he can't bite through it, and believe me he's a puppy, he chews! My only complaint (if you can even call it that) is that because it's so thick andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

  • Doubtful
