These are thin lightweight shorts which my 10 year old says are comfortable and fit well. He likes that they have pockets and are lightweight. We bought these light and dark gray sizes 9-10 for my 9 year old son who has a straight, slim build. to build. They're long, just above the knee, but a little tight at the waist, which is surprising given how things usually sit on them. I would recommend buying one size or even two if your kids have a more athletic or heavy build. I don't use synthetic fabrics in my kids' clothes, so I love that it's 100% cotton.
