The laptop storage is on the outside wall which means there is nothing (other than padding) to protect it from falls/shocks etc. Most bags have laptop storage in the middle. the best protection. The inner pockets are roomy but look like a duffel bag, we would just toss things in. I keep it as an extra laptop bag, but I would return it if I used it every day at work. Revain has historically sold the best bags.

Bought this based on reviews and it fits everything I need to take with me, but the laptop compartment is very narrow for a 16.25" x 11" Lenovo ThinkPad P17 . and has a 17.3 inch screen. However, the zipper barely closes at the corners of this laptop. Therefore, the corners of the laptop will not be many. That's the only reason I gave 4 stars. Otherwise, it feels solid with plenty of other compartments and a sturdy shoulder strap with metal hardware instead of plastic.

I have used four media of this type and was disappointed with the advertised size and carrying capacity compared to the actual size and carrying capacity. This medium is advertised as 7.5 inches, expandable to 9.5 inches. You can bet the first thing I did when my carrier arrived was measuring it. Miraculously, in advertising there is a proven truth. I bought the 18 inch model. Yes, 18 inches, not 17.3. Looks like a quality case. Enough space and pockets for charger, docking station, multi-port USB-C hub, etc. Fits most 17.3 inch models. as the corners of the laptop stick out and fall out of the zippered compartment. So the zipper cannot release the laptop to close the compartment. Otherwise a great bag and should fit you.

I really like this bag - it's very roomy and feels sturdy. My only major complaint (only one, but it's a HUGE complaint): the bag is clearly advertised as having a shoulder strap. I searched every compartment in the bag and the box it came in, but I couldn't find ANY shoulder strap anywhere. So 5 stars for the bag but less than 2 stars for the advertised product. Maybe someone from this company will send me a strap and I'll change my rating?
