After only 3 months the bell that was supposed to let you know the waffle was ready started making a very high pitched (and terribly annoying) noise all the time - now it sounds like a smoke alarm . . This waffle maker replaces AllClad which is 5 years old and I think is a very good product. However, in the end, AllClad just didn't work, and we looked for a replacement. This Krups is GREAT! It produces evenly baked, crispy waffles and is a much better waffle maker than my old AllClad. We usually make waffles every couple of weeks and only cook for 2 people.
