Krytox GPL Oils are completely nonflammable. They will not burn, even in 100% liquid or gaseous oxygen and are compatible with all elastomeric seal materials and engineering plastics. Krytox GPL series oils are chemically inert to virtually all chemicals, including oxygen, chlorine, sulfuric acid, and nitric acid. They are insoluble in most solvents and are resistant to steam. Krytox GPL Oils, with their low surface tension, will easily wet metallic surfaces and since they are chemically inert, they have no effect on metals up to 288°C (550°F). Krytox GPL Oils last significantly longer, so less lubricant is needed. They are completely nontoxic and do not release volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere. Krytox GPL Oils combine stability, high-temperature performance, non flammability, and chemical inertness with outstanding lubrication under a variety of conditions.

Not Worth the Investment

Based on my observations, this industrial lubricant did not live up to its advertised effectiveness .While it may work in some situations, it was not effective for my specific machinery. The only pro is that it is easily available in the Industrial and Scientific market. However the cons outweigh the pros with its high cost and lack of effectiveness. I would not recommend this product for someone looking for a reliable industrial lubricant..

Viscosity is much lower than GPL 105 and 106 oils. This oil seems to hit harder spots.

This is a very expensive oil so I would only use it in cases where I need an oil that will not burn or evaporate. This is a professional grade oil designed for industrial applications. Use it when that particular oil is needed. If you are relubricating seals I would recommend GPL106 oil. This is what Ford and some other manufacturers use as OEM equipment. They sell a kit (white lighting?) that has an applicator and 1 ounce of oil for use on car door seals. You really don't need a lot of oil to…
