Great for art!

Funny how I seem to be the only one who got this for drawing and not for calligraphy. Oops! I already drew my drawing with a fine tip and it dried very quickly. No blemishes, and I'm very gracious with the watercolor paper I use (some ink sticks show through with even the slightest touch). So it worked immediately and smoothly. In addition, the brush tip is durable, allowing you to control your actions. The brush tip is ideal for calligraphy and strong shading. Very damp - so it doesn't dry…

Pros
  • Stable results when tested
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Nearly perfect

I have to say I've tried a few brush pens from Tombow, Pentel, Pilot, Zebra and other Kuretakes and this one is probably one of my favorites. Just to clarify: This is a brush pen with a felt pen, which means it has no individual "hairs" or threads, but a dot-like weave. I just want to make sure buyers know what they want, as brush pens usually fall into the category of felt tip or real brush tip, which is one of the previous ones. as you can, a good thick flow is maintained. It also dries…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Short lifespan

I bought two of these pens to use for practicing kanji and writing. I changed two handles each day to try and maintain their longevity. After about 4 months of minimal daily use (about 15 minutes of writing per day), the ink on both pens became noticeably grayer and more translucent. Pen tips are still strong, but brush tips are about 65% more efficient than before. I expect they will both last another 3 or 4 months before I have to throw them away. Considering that two pens only last 8 months,

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure
