Review on Kuretake FUDE PEN NIHON-DATE KABURA: Double-sided, Black Brush Tip Pen for Calligraphy, Art, Writing - Made in Japan by Amy Mcleod

Nearly perfect

I have to say I've tried a few brush pens from Tombow, Pentel, Pilot, Zebra and other Kuretakes and this one is probably one of my favorites. Just to clarify: This is a brush pen with a felt pen, which means it has no individual "hairs" or threads, but a dot-like weave. I just want to make sure buyers know what they want, as brush pens usually fall into the category of felt tip or real brush tip, which is one of the previous ones. as you can, a good thick flow is maintained. It also dries fairly quickly and doesn't bleed as much on paper unlike traditional brush pens. The pressure sensitivity is also great and good variations in line width can be achieved with the brush. I could care less about the hard tip which I rarely used. The only downside was that if you press very hard, the pen tip will be permanently deformed (reducing pressure dispersion). This isn't a problem for most, but my general curiosity got the better of me and I was tempted to test its ability to keep the tip even. It also tends to run out fairly quickly, but only if you use it and nothing else for a lot of drawings. I was able to fill about 50 pages of a sketchbook with it, which is pretty good compared to other brush pens I've tested. For example, while I prefer the traditional feel of a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen, one cartridge lasts around 5-10 pages.
