Description of 🎨 Kuretake GANSAI TAMBI Watercolor Set: Professional-Quality Paints for Artists and Crafters | AP-Certified | Ideal for Dark Papers | Made in Japan (36 Colors)

[36 Colors] Gansai is traditional Japanese watercolor, utilizing colors that are based off those seen in nature, meaning they are vivid and opaque. Pans are carefully filled with paint that is smooth, not granulated, and dries with a slight shiny finish. [Flexible Techniques] Paints do not leave hard edges when dry, making flat-washes easy to accomplish, and are easy to layer with proper technique. [Brush Dexterity] Gansai Tambi Pans are much larger than typical watercolor pans, giving you the ability to use both small or large brushes quite easily. [Palette and Color chart included] Within each Gansai Tambi set is a protective sheet that not only keeps your pans from shifting but can be used as a palette mixer. Each box also includes a color chart so you can swatch the colors yourself and distinguish between them quickly. [Beautiful Packaging, Ideal for Gift-giving] Water-based pigment is ACMI-certified, and packaged in a simple cardboard box with elegant green washi overlay. Perfect for gifts.

The best watercolors for professional use

By far the most beautiful high saturation watercolors I've ever used. The cost is fair considering how richly pigmented they are. Highly recommended for illustrators and designers; or anyone creating a professional portfolio. They blend superbly yet retain their integrity when applied with designer gouache, colored pencil, Pitt pastels, etc. The metallics and pearlescent colors really are superb, which is saying a lot considering most metallic watercolors/gouache are often frustratingly flat…

Not lightfast! best in pens

These inks are not lightfast at all. I found a lightfastness test online by someone where the person said they had exposed samples to direct sunlight for a year and most of them were completely lightfast. Well all I did was make samples from this set and put them away after they dried. Then I took 12 of my favorite flowers and made a pattern out of them, hung them on the wall indoors, not in direct sunlight but in normal room light. After only 2 months, many of them have faded terribly compared

Brilliantly pigmented, versatile and wearable!

These watercolors are simply brilliant! They are rich and highly pigmented. When drawing, they have a creamy consistency and shade perfectly on paper. I was completely surprised and amazed when I used them for the first time because I didn't expect such richness of color from these watercolours. The range is extensive and can be used individually or mixed. Plus, the fact that they come packaged in a tray is an added bonus, eliminating the need to wring out tubes of watercolor and make your own…

Very nice traditional Japanese watercolor painting

I jumped on the bandwagon. I received my new Gansai Tambi watercolors yesterday and chose the colors. It's a good set, I had a gift card so I only paid about $14 for it. I like big pots, but I don't like color. They shine if you apply them a little thicker. I think the binding is different from western watercolors. I know that some traditional Japanese and Chinese watercolors use gelatin or animal glue to bind the pigments. Maybe Gansai Tambi uses something similar? They seem to be wetted…

Stunning vibrant colors

The colors are excellent, I've tried Winsor and Newton Cotman, Stedtler and some student grades. But it was my first "cake" watercolor paint. I usually paint with w&n art paints. However, I've always liked the way watercolor work looks. So I study advertising as much as possible. I only had the 8 color Cotman starter kit and wanted to expand my palette without breaking the bank. They will definitely help with this without hurting my wallet. I added a piece I made for my mom for Mother's Day…

This set of Japanese watercolors is AMAZING!

This Japanese watercolor set is AWESOME! I LOVE IT!. The color is very opaque but can be thinned and get the look of normal water color. The colors are very bright. If you apply hard, they dry with shellac like glitter. The more you dilute them, the more they dry out with a watercolor look and texture. Paints are in individual containers that can be swapped out. I've seen replacements on other online stores but not on Revain; I wish they were available because I really like these colors. They…

Incredible impression

I'm really surprised by the quality of these colors. I've tried many major brand paints, from student paints (W&N Cotman) to some of the best tube paints (Daniel Smith, Mission Gold, etc) and they compare well to artists' paints. I've seen almost every YouTuber look at this set and exclaim how valuable it is, but I didn't really notice until I made an impromptu purchase. One thing to keep in mind when purchasing this set is that Japanese watercolors are slightly different from most Western…
