Perfect for my 2001 FLSTFI

I quickly change my Harley's shock absorbers every 3 years because when they break it's a real pain. This spring is good quality and easy to install (if you know the trick - no vice required!). This is a strong pen and I have been using it for over ten years now. Never had a single break as long as I change them every 3 years. Well!

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Running speed

This spring was the perfect size and tension for my 2012 Ultra Classic

This spring was the perfect size and tension for my 2012 Ultra Classic. You will need to remove the 1/2" screw and stand, slide the end of the spring through the frame and then through the hole in the stand, then reinsert the footpeg shaft into the base bracket and reinstall the 1/2" screw . You will bend the hook if you don't do it this way.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Spring works great. For you guys who complain it's bent because it was cheap. If this was the right spring for your bike, you just didn't know how to install it. It does not need to be clamped with a vise or pliers. You remove the footrest from the pivot. It's a screw. Then install the spring and use the stand as a lever when reinstalling. Very easy to do.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...

Cheap crappy product

What a terrible product. I expected more from this brand. The hooks are too long and the metal is weak. To install it on a stand, make it to length. I had to cut the length of the hook at both ends to install them. Harley just bought a factory OEM for $14 and it works great.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • No automatic

Stick to original equipment

Unscrewed everything you need, very easy to install this spring, once stuck, tightened the screws, lowered and raised several times throughout the evening. When I brought my 03 Electra Glide home, the kickstand bounced a bit loose and sparks flew as I made a hard left turn. Upon cutting I found 1 end (both ends very similar, both rotatable, shaped like hooks. This one seems to have one of the ends of the hooks open causing the stand to become loose. I replaced it with a factory Harley part.

Pros
  • Annual trial period
Cons
  • Hard to say

Will not fit 2005 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic

My husband spent hours installing this on his 2005 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. First, the shaft (hook) at the end of the spring is at the wrong angle. The original spring part has a 45 degree angle, and this part has a U-shaped end. It's also too long. The metal is also very cheap and ended up having to be cut off the bike, which was easily done with "bolt cutters" (not a good sign of good metal) as it couldn't hold up. He ended up using his old quill and going to the dealer for the realโ€ฆ

  • Best
Cons
  • Some small things

Don't waste your time

Not very good. I have bought 4 of these in the last 5 years as they tend to break after little use. They all fail in the same way, the hooked end of the spring you put on the frame straightens and just can't stay in place. I have a 99 FLHR and had to replace the factory one after encountering a speed limit. On the last one I put on, the hook straightened up as soon as I hooked it onto the stand and started returning it to its natural position. I think there are two problems: 1) The ends are not

Not a review of a part but a review of this manufacturer

I'm just sharing my experience with this seller: I bought this stand in Spring April 2014 and under normal circumstances I wouldn't waste time on it. This problem but I think it's not normal. I installed this spring when it arrived and have not ridden my bike since. My bike has not only been on a lift since April 2014 except to wash it. I washed it last weekend and when I tried to use my stand the feather looked like the picture. (There should be a hook on both ends, a hook is just bent byโ€ฆ
