Help prevent a chimney fire.

After a chimney fire a few years ago we started fighting creosote in our chimney. We cast once a week and have had no problems with creosote buildup.

Pros
  • Pack contains three (3) cartridges
Cons
  • Nothing

Canisters are opened during transport!

Good product but delivery is a problem. I received two boxes and all six cans had their lids removed and the material distributed within the shipping box. I heard the contents move before opening the box. I contacted Revain who promptly replaced the order but also had issues with the lids on the cans. Not much fell out and I was able to replace the tops and use up most of the product. However, there is a design flaw. I don't really like touching or inhaling chemicals in canisters.

Pros
  • Canisters are made of non-combustible material and will crumble to ash in a fire
Cons
  • I am concerned

Wood boiler works well

We use them in a water jacketed boiler that burns large amounts of wood to heat our entire home. Kwik-Shot is good at preventing creosote from falling off the walls of the boiler and chimney. It takes some work to clear the bottom of the chimney of creosote, which is necessary to prevent fires, but better than a chimney fire. Doesn't replace cleaning the chimney at least every two years depending on how much the boiler is used over the winter, but makes cleaning a lot easier so a self-taught…

Pros
  • For a safe and efficient fireplace have your chimney professionally cleaned regularly
Cons
  • When in doubt
