Works well in spares

This is a regular shock absorber, not the best, my truck still bounces more than I want, maybe I'll buy more next time, like for heavy operating conditions

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Intervals

Terrible shocks! - Shock absorber

I used to like KYB but it changed me forever. I just removed these shocks from my truck because after less than 5,000 miles they turned to rubbish and ruined a new set of tires. Wow! What happened KIB?

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Having problems

Ideal OEM shock absorbers: Shock absorbers

These shock absorbers are great. They are made in Japan of very high quality. Perfect weld. This made my GMC truck behave like new. Many compare KYB and Monroe. In my experience, the KYB is a bit stiffer. Try these Kyb shocks and I'm sure you'll be impressed.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Retrofittable

Good on hard bumps, useless on wide bumps that cause bounce.

I've been wearing them on my 2006 Silverado for a few months now. The old ones were too soft so I thought I needed new dampers. They handle hard/sharp bumps much better, but do nothing to limit bike travel on big, long dips in the road leading to an impact. I think it's time for a new Beal and some bushings.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Unfashionable

KYB Shocks: Shocks, Struts & Suspension

Ordered 4 KYB GR-2 shocks from Revain. 344380 front and 380365 rear. The rear wheels went up with no problem. I put it on the front with no problem. When I wanted to install a different front, the equipment looked different. Checked the boxes, the part number is correct. I checked the parts and one of them had the wrong part number and was packed in a box with the wrong label. On Saturday afternoon I went online with Revain, got all my return paperwork and shipping label, ordered a new one and…

Pros
  • Builds confidence
Cons
  • There are downsides
