Great dampers for the price

Great dampers for the price. Monotube design. Greatly improved my sons ride 2001 Xterra. The old shock absorbers (cheap front, standard rear) have been completely removed. They didn't even expand after removal, they just stayed compressed.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Bad set

Not good for a light truck

I should have gone with MonoMax shocks. After three months there is little difference between their performance and the worn out original shock absorbers they replaced. Cannot and would never recommend them for the Nissan Frontier.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Legacy model

They work well, especially for the price.

Got these in my Xterra a few months ago, now I use it every day for work. I need something with better fuel economy but I need a lot of interior space, no it's not grocery delivery. I am responsible for internal network maintenance, installation and resurfacing for various official sites.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Only available in black

These shock absorbers are a perfect fit on my 2003 Nissan Xterra SE 4x4

These shock absorbers are a perfect fit on my 2003 Nissan Xterra SE 4x4. Very easy to install. The shocks stabilized my car very well when we went off road to sand at OuterBanks. We towed a £3,000 trailer to the beach probably loaded with another £1,000. The shock absorbers worked great. The shocks were great as I won't be lugging that much, but I suggest if you plan on lugging all the time, take it a step further to get the performance you want. They do a good job for everyday use and…

  • Quality construction

All Metal Compression Strap - Great Value - for Gen 1 Xterras

A very good DIY replacement for the Bilstein which comes without a compression strap and has a thin rubber cap. both are STRONG cons IMO for DIYers. Considering the price difference between the two brands, I see a lot of "value" in KYB "gas-a-just" shocks, even though they aren't the superior monomax KYBs (KYB DOES NOT make monomax shocks for Gen 1 Xterras according to the directory). If you drive in a rust belt and your shock absorbers are original and full of rust, give yourself a day off to…

Pros
  • Lots of Goodies
Cons
  • Protection
