Installation with strut stiffening plate modifications

On my Corolla LE 09 I had to drill 3 holes in the strut stiffening plate at the top of the strut bar. The lugs are thicker than the original.

Not for 2010 Scion Tc

They looked the same as the old strut mounts, but the bearing bore was too small to fit over the old or new struts. I just used the old bracket on the new rack and everything is fine. Good quality, just didn't fit the stand. The part number on the box for my application was correct, IDK what happened.

Not for 1st generation Scion tC (2010 and older)

This bracket is approximately 5mm higher than the original Toyota bracket. While it will fit, you will not be able to tighten the strut top nut because the splined portion of the strut shaft will not engage the bracket. This means that when you tighten the top nut (middle of the bracket/bearing), the strut shaft simply rotates. I only saw 3-4 steps on the rack itself. Obviously this is not what Toyota intended. Interestingly, there seem to be 2 different part numbers for KYB's tC. This part…
