I don't understand why, but this stabilizer does not come with a dust boot. The main body has a groove for one, but no dust boot, leaving the main shaft exposed. it installs fine and seems to work, but what?
Installed on a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee and less than 200 miles it cracked and stopped working! I have emailed the manufacturer but no help has been offered to attempt to return the Revain for a warranty claim which I think will be difficult.
That's the old hesitation. Keep in mind that this could be due to loose steering components, but it was the last thing to fix and it works great. No more death wobble and for the price this absorbs shocks to the steering system very well.
After reading some reviews I was hesitant to buy this product. This SS was perfect for my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I reused all my assembly parts except for the new bushing. This SS does not replace the OEM SS, so I already use other hardware. The device on the left in the photo is suitable for my application. The SS is made in Mexico and the hardware is made in the USA.
Others like the adapter kit etc that comes with it. I had to change the metal bushings in the rubber bushings. One screw was the right size (many washers and a tapered bushing were needed), the other at the end of the axle was undersized, with a steel bushing in the rubber bushing. It's good that I have a set of tools, as well as a press. Put the original jeep bolt back on the end of the axle. Let's see how SS holds up. I usually write reviews after 3000 miles but since it required…
I purchased this stabilizer bar in place of my own stabilizer bar for a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic. The hardest part was removing the old stabilizer bar. A Google search found good, detailed removal instructions. This stabilizer bar took five minutes to install and tie rod end hardware is included. There is a tapered bushing that goes into the tie rod. A cone is installed in the factory bolt. You can reuse the factory hardware, but I went with the new hardware that came with the stabilizer. I…
I ordered a KYB steering damper but didn't realize it didn't have the correct rubber boot attachment. This is odd as the damper is made for trucks and every other damper/shock I have ever bought for my jeep has had a trunk cover. The only exception are dampers/shock absorbers that already have a protector at the end of the stem. For example Old Man Emu. . The end of the tube is the thick end that contains the piston, seal, oil, etc. The end of the shaft has a chromed metal rod that goes in and…
