I knew they would be cheap but I needed more china protection in the box I keep them in. These are dust covers only. No quilt protection as there is no middle layer. Only 6" thin foam separators are included so they only fit saucers. I will only be using this kit for internal dust and bug protection.

I recently bought some new flatware that will only be used for special occasions and that's when storage came to my mind. I found this for what I was willing to pay. The reviews were ok, the photos gave a completely different impression as they only showed part of the hull outdoors. When it's fully open you'll find that there aren't many things to keep your items in place. There is a slight separation between the waiting areas. On the outside it is not a pretty quilt like material as shown in the photos but a cheap glossy vinyl material that looks like a vinyl table top you could use for a child's birthday party. The 12 cup compartments will never fit actual full-sized mugs with handles, but will fit short handleless glasses or Chinese teacups. I managed to squeeze in 8 regular sized mugs with handles by cutting through the cardboard dividers and they are VERY snug. Other than that, it's not a terrible storage box…

Ok, not terrible, but not optimal for use. Large slots are great, but small slots are only good for a knife blade because they are so narrow. You can't put forks or spoons in them, let alone serving spoons because they're so narrow. As you can see, I could only place the knives and my serving spoons, which I had to stack on top of each other in the large slots, one at a time. For the price this set is ok. There is enough space in the various dish drawers for each dish, except for the cup drawer, which has 12 compartments but can't even hold the eight cups that I have. If I remove the cardboard dividers and wrap each mug individually, I can still use the sleeve. Thin foam sheet dividers work well for smaller dishes like tea saucers and bread plates, but for dinner and salad plates they don't provide enough coverage to put my mind at ease.
