Despite a large fan, it wasn't enough to cool the Alienware 15 R4! You can tell that it doesn't cool enough by the fact that the laptop fan was still running at full speed! and if you feel the sides between the laptop and the cooler, you won't feel any airflow there. Just buy a better cooling pad. Maybe with a fan speed controller (preferably automatic). This product might be good for a budget laptop, but not for gaming laptops!

This product looks professional, no dumb lighting, seems to work to cool my laptop and helps keep my laptop in the best position on my to hold desk. The noise level is relatively low, at full fan speed it doesn't bother me. However, there are small problems: 1. The fan turns off and on intermittently. Not sure why.2. The fan speed control changes the speed very little, there isn't much of a difference, luckily full speed isn't noisy so I just set it to full speed.

I originally bought this unit as a replacement for another branded unit based solely on the fact that it was the first decently rated unit I found that had NO backlight . on topic.
