I find this mat has three main advantages: 1- It doesn't lie flat. It keeps the curve pieces rolled up in the box it comes in. No pressure, long or short, or heat will remove it. Luckily for me the end plan was to glue the thing together so I solved that problem for myself but for most people this will be a problem. The light at the edges is very scratchy.
