The controls for various functions are not discreet and can therefore be confusing for young children. The flashing lights also flash when there's no music playing, which is annoying. Also, the CD player doesn't remember where it left off when you start it again. Good device for the price, but room for improvement

The reception was incredibly poor - I have an acceptable signal on a small 4" x 7" hand held weather radio and much better signals on every other Boom box the house. We brought this to our daughter's room mainly for listening to music and bedtime stories. We used the CD player lightly at night and after only a few weeks it stopped playing CDs. This CD player sat on her dresser, hardly worn or even used. I would not recommend this one. When it worked, the sound was good for a child's room. The plastic looks like cheap plastic. I was able to contact Revain and they refunded my money. Of course we will buy another CD player, but not this one.
