Easy installation, best in car backup cameras

easy installation but the instructions are rather weak. A better illustration and color images would be helpful when connected to a wireless monitor

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • will be added later

"No signal " after 2 months of use

didn't get any signal message on the main unit after a while, everything worked fine for about 2 or 3 months, then a pink screen started with a normal picture and then a signal message. I'm still trying in vain to get it to work, so sad I thought it was the best rear camera ever :(

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Works well in low light but it's fisheye.

Fits well and the camera works very well in low light (ie it works in the dark). The only issue I had was with the male to male RCA adapter because the pin was too short to make a good connection to my stereo. Everything else was great. A fisheye effect that takes some getting used to. Not only do I see my hitch, but also part of the bumper with it.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home.
Cons
  • Appearance.

Just take a look. for automotive and automotive electronics

Looks great on my 2004 Ford F-150 Supercrew. I replaced my head unit with a good Sony head unit and paired it with this camera/lock. It opens the back door but just feels smooth. Initially the camera image was too bright (no contrast) but for the last week the image has been excellent. I don't know why this is "self-corrected" but I hope it stays that way. I will be updating months in the future but for now I'm happy with it and wish I had done it a long time ago.

  • Absolute Legend

  • So-so

Amazing camera and professional looks

2010 Ford F-150 xlt 4wd. This camera is amazing, don't get a cheap license plate. The only problem with this was that there were no instructions, I ended up having to run a separate wire from my taillight to the purple/white wire on my sapper deck, then the red goes with the reds (accessory) and the black goes prime. The yellow video cable did not go to the yellow video jack on the stereo, it went to the brown aux jack in the top right corner of the stereo. I have Pioneer avh1400nex

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Worked great for a year, no more

Update: This was a great latch and camera until a few days ago. The camera now has a picture but it's blurry like it's letting in too much light. LEADSIGN, if you are reading this, can I purchase a replacement camera? The latch still works well but the camera is removed. After all, I lived there for a year. 2 stars for 1 year. I just want to buy a replacement camera. Love it, use it every time I backup. 07F150. I routed the cable through the back door, then through the brake lines. It took aโ€ฆ

2004 F-150 Best automotive and vehicle electronics mount

I'm giving this one 5 stars for now as the installation went well and everything works fine. The tailgate installation went exactly as I expected after watching the YouTube videos. Torx T30 screwdriver to remove the 8 rear door mounting screws and a 10mm socket to remove the 2 handle nuts. Since I had a previous camera installed, my camera's yellow RCA wire (from the radio) and power wires (from the taillight) were already on the rear bumper. All I had to do was install the handle in theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Crystal clear picture, easy installation

Looks great, fits as good as the original. Installation was pretty easy. A wire clip makes it easier to pull the wire through the tailgate. The hardest part of the job was running the cables the full length of the truck. I decided to run the wire through a rubber grommet that went into the firewall behind the master cylinder. I also connected the reversing light wire behind the driver's tail light and then wrapped that wire in a 1/4" auto loom along with the camera wire. So far, it's goodโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Car electronics
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Camera cable is very long

Overall this is a great product. 4 stars only because the plastic part that pushes the lever to open the tailgate is weak. Every time I open the tailgate, this part flexes. I assume it will break down over time. If so, I'll update this review with the approximate time I opened the tailgate. The rest of the camera is of excellent quality. I have a 2011 F-250 flight deck and was concerned about buying a camera with enough cables to connect it to the dash. I routed the cable through the factoryโ€ฆ

Pros

Cons
  • cable is shorter than others
