Doesn't work in Safety & Security

The only problem with this system that makes it useless is that the valve does NOT stay connected to the hub and is permanently offline. Look for reviews about it and you will see that tech support cannot solve the problem. Just a lot of excuses. Otherwise it would be a great system. Too bad it doesn't work.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Has problems

Doesn't work in the Safety category

The check valve control is not reliable enough to turn a valve that requires reasonable torque (yes I can turn the valve on and off manually). I've tried positioning this thing and pulling it all the way up a dozen times, but it still twisted off the valve knob during calibration. Nice concept but doesn't work in the real world.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Expensive

Good product. Excellent customer service.

Excellent product. Installation was a bit tricky due to lack of space, but after a few weeks of talking to the manufacturer's excellent customer support, I was able to figure out how to get everything working. The main valve handle had to be bent and modified. The customer service team was exceptional

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Some defects

Does a job well - household sensors and alarms

It's been a month and a half and all I can say is that it works. Water touches the sensor, an alarm is sent, the valve closes. The physical installation of the controller is simple and very convenient. The app guides you through all settings, pairing and testing the sensors. It's a little more expensive than I think it should be, but when you have a 60+ year old house like mine with aging and changing plumbing, it's worth the peace and quiet.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Snap-on valve timing

I bought a newer version 3.0 with snap-on valve timing. The benefit was that I didn't have to install their patented valve in my water line. The concept is good. I tried 3 ball valves and when I snapped them in they were really good for the calibration step. This occurs when the valve controller sees a range of OPEN and CLOSED positions. 2 valves were adjusted by the valve control. The third time, the valve controller simply twisted out of position. Even if I were making money I wouldn't trust…

Pros
  • can't be calibrated Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Cable shorter than others

I just installed this leak detection system on a hose valve on the main water inlet. After creating an account, adding a hub to WiFi, and adding a valve sensor and 3 leak sensors to my account, it was time to calibrate the valve system. The valve system cycled on and off several times and finally stopped. At this point I should be complete and ready to go. I clicked the water shutoff valve on my app and it started to close. Halfway through the application it says an error has occurred. I don't…

  • Certified

  • Something else

Peace of mind - no worries about water damage + great app

I really don't understand the negative reviews on here. After three friends suffered severe water damage from leaking dishwashers and our own fridge causing a water main leak (thankfully we found it within minutes), we needed to find something to put our minds at ease. I have read of many similar systems. I finally chose this Smart Leak because: 1. Installing Snapon means I can install it myself without the extra $100 for a plumber.2. One of the few compatible with Nest, Google, etc. Not that I
