Very well built. The edges are all beveled and a good finish. The hardware is adequate but would have liked to see a brass hinge and screws. Only four stars because there was no skin on the jaws. So it was functional out of the box. I applied some suede I had at the store. Bangs work great with this modification.

I learned leatherwork from an old saddler who bequeathed his big old sewing horse to me before he died. I built a few of these little stitching ponies and they are just as good as the others. It moves into position, is easy to block, and gives you the best view of what you're working on. I'll replace the hinge and screws with brass, but that's just personal preference. That's a great little pony.

I was very excited about this leather pony. I am new to working with leather and it has been very difficult for me to sew things together. This product helps me and is so versatile. It holds my skin just right as I sew and I can adjust it. It also makes work easier as I can sit on it while I work, which helps with good stabilization. Made of high quality wood and well painted. Exactly what I was looking for.

This is a very well designed sewing pony. All materials are of good quality. The wooden parts are not sanded or varnished. Many connecting parts are only semi-fixed. I am a skilled tool user. I myself will make adjustments to this product. I recommend buying this pony to people who know how to use tools. The product I received appears to have been made in a garage by someone who finished their 6 cans of beer. Including sandpaper!
