Punches clean holes, very sharp and won't get stuck in leather like the Tandy tool and others. This is the only stapler I will be using now.

I used it to make stitch holes in the belt. About midway through the belt, one of the teeth on the 6 tooth punch was bent. I had to finish the belt with 4 prongs.

All punching teeth got stuck in the leather on first use and rendered it unusable. Before I knew what the problem was, the punch teeth broke. I tried to be careful using a punch pad and leather trim to protect the teeth, but they broke anyway. The remaining whole teeth cannot be freed from stuck skin and the punch is useless.

For those who want nice stitches but can't get diamond chisels to work properly this is a great alternative. You don't get the same fancy stitch type as diamond chisel and the saddle stitch method, but you can easily hand stitch your work with neat little holes. That's a big difference. This actually punches holes rather than creating a small gap for the needle to pass through. This makes sewing easier.
