Legend TY JDC 97M24S01F Printable Recordable Review

I was fooled into thinking these are genuine Taiyo Yuden CDs, but they didn't work well. I couldn't get a blank burned CD even after 5 attempts. Don't waste money.

Good quality. They seem to be burning quite well so far, up to 52x with my burner. Two small problems: The CD-R set was poorly packed in the box (only 1 small air cushion), the box was open and the discs were in the box. They also smell bad - a strong unpleasant smell of plastic. I'm not sure if I would get them again because of that.

Discs burn fine as long as there are no bad discs (68 discs recorded). It smells terribly strongly of burnt chemicals. The odor can be greatly reduced by leaving the slices, white side up, on a towel on the lawn in the sun for a day. Unfortunately they still stink, just not throughout the house when you first get them.

Was looking for a CD-R to use with my Sega Saturn so I can play a few translations of the few games I have and reading on the internet everyone highly recommends the Taiyo Yuden CDs as the best to use. I came across the Legend with PRO rims while searching Amazon and they were the cheapest Taiyo Yuden rims you could find but there weren't any reviews so I decided to try them myself. With Img Burn, these discs appear to be legitimate Taiyo Yuden discs. So far I've tried them with my Sega Saturn,

I have always used the Taiyo Yuden Pro range CDs and rarely have problems with my Microboards 10 duplicators I have seen them at a much lower price with the Taiyo Yuden name and the word "professional" on the label. 75% of these CDs failed. My Microboards duplicator usually detects bad drives and gives me an error so I know not to use a bad drive for a client.
