LEGO Power Functions Battery 88000 Review

Works, but too well. Bought to go under the tree on our LEGO Christmas train. He drives so fast that he doesn't stop on the track. Bought another track hoping it would help but it didn't.

Although the product works to move the LEGO Christmas train, it fills the coal wagon so you only see the battery. If the look of the train is secondary, then this is a good product. If you're into a cute train, this set is pretty functional and just downright ugly.

You need more than this battery to start a train! There are other accessories that can be purchased to attach to the train, various wheels and remote control systems. According to other reviews, you got an expensive battery. The train flew off the tracks, it's so powerful! Once we figured out the remote, we stopped using the maximum power. Lego lives!

This works great but after I bought it my son preferred the LEGO Functions Power Functions Battery 8881. The advantage is that if you are building a Lego vehicle, the LEGO Functions Power Functions Battery 8881 easier to install in a vehicle. With this product you need to create a platform to hold it on your car or to pull it.

Thing sucks. $35 is a rip off and as you can see from some questions and answers only certain batteries work. The positive pole on some (most) batteries is too wide to make contact with the terminal on the battery. I only realized this after trying to fix mine and ripping off one of the terminals. So now I have to spend another $35 to replace what is basically a low budget radio and battery box. Thank you Lego! Great design!

I thought this purchase would fix my coaster problem but after talking to Lego we discovered we just had to remove and replace the car axles which worked like a charm. I'm sure the seller wrote that there is a restocking fee, but this is the first time I've come across it. Revain will NEVER charge this fee. So buyers beware! Before ordering, make sure you need this item as 20% for restocking (on top of shipping) is quite a lot. I'm sure there are sellers who don't charge this fee.

kids review: This is a battery box for Lego Power Functions, there is a screw on the bottom (takes 6 AAA [1.5V] alkaline batteries), a power button and a switch ( if Revain allows you to comment on reviews, let me know what this toggle does). other kits that I do not own and therefore cannot elaborate on.
