Low Voltage Wire Connector

These connectors are good. Well built, ideal for connecting outdoor low voltage cables. I've used two of these. However, the problem with the first set was that one of the tiny and short screws was missing. Revain sent a replacement set and again a screw is missing. I'll try again to find a suitable replacement screw. I'm wondering if the manufacturer did a final quality check on these connectors before shipping them out?

Limited use, best in electrical boxes, lines and fittings

I've used several of these over the past year and they're useful, with caveats. If you need to splice or extend a low voltage line, they're fine. However, you cannot skip two lines; it only accepts one line of input and one line of output. I drilled a hole in the side and unplugged the other box to remove the third wire. The box is also very small and fits snugly if you use the regular connectors instead of the ones that come with it. The screws are also very tight, and even the new Phillipsโ€ฆ

Helped but keep that in mind

This gave me a nice clean outer finish. I would say it's a bit pricey for an empty box, but it's a special box and well designed. The cables used were smaller than the minimum size I could seal with a compression fitting on the end, so I added some sealant. There's a seal on the door. You can always siliconize the edges for extra durability without compromising the ability to get inside. The wire block lugs fit over some tapered plastic posts that hold them in place. Good Product Electrical Boxes

Used to extend the power cord to the drain pump to about 2 feet in length. Easy to use, IP68 rated if I remember correctly, which is pretty damn good. (ie dustproof, permanently submersible in excess of 1 meter) Reasonable price for small quantities. They're a good weight, call me old school, but I feel more confident in their quality when a product like this weighs a little more than nothing. My only concern is that they appear to be limited to tighter cables. So don't expect to hook up a 10โ€ฆ

Good product but comment for US buyers

These are good boxes and work well. The only problem. . . I suspect the head of the supplied screws may not be Phillips but something like Pozidrive or Frearson. (Phillips are used in Europe and possibly Asia) The plastic holes are tight and none of the Phillips sizes I could find were good at driving screws without crushing the cross. For the 2nd box I drill a little bit of holes for the screws before trying to screw them in (or find a suitable driver. I must have it somewhere). However, theyโ€ฆ

Think carefully before you buy

If you need it outside what it's made for then you should probably look elsewhere. First, there are tiny screws that even the smallest finger can't handle. So you're working on your knees in the mud, trying to connect to a light or whatever, whoops, you lost a screw. oops I can't get the existing wire through the hole, oops I can't line up the old hard wire with the new one. This can be appreciated by a person with small fingers who works at a bank. Anyone working in this field will not likeโ€ฆ

Good box with cover screws

Box is good, cover is good, gasket looks ok, terminal block works well. The screws for both boxes sent me complete scrap. Screw number one, turned 1/2 turn and it moved out of position so I unscrewed it, this one broke off the head of the screw. With the right screwdriver, screw two did the same. I checked the threaded bushings in the box and they don't appear to have any casting defects and are the correct size. All 8 self-tapping screws on both boxes are scrap, like foil. I screw in different

Unsafe product on switch boxes

This item is unsatisfactory in all respects. I bought them for underground 10/3 wire splicing for power in my shed. The nuts, which are designed to create a seal when tightened by compressing the spacer around the wire, are not tightened enough to create the required seal (note that 10 gauge wire is not small). The tiny screws meant to crimp the end of the wire are too small to be tightened enough. The top of the box is held on by 4 small Phillips screws. The screw holes are too small and itโ€ฆ
