Expensive but works! Smoke filter

So it's September 2020, fire season in NW. AKI is dangerous outside. The high quality MERV16 filter will transform your home. Photos show PM2.5 outside, installed filter and exhaust air from the vent. Is it important. Nothing more to say than wish it was cheaper!

Help! Is mold growing all over the filter?

Help! Mold grows all over the filter. I replaced it after 10 months and found mold growing all over the black part of the filter. See fig. I carefully examined the steering wheel, air vents, air ducts (as far as I could see) and found no traces elsewhere. The mold has no smell. I'm posting this, maybe someone can help me figure it out. Apparently my family has been breathing this air for almost a year, so I'm very worried.

We clearly pull a lot of what we don't need in our lungs out of the air.

When we replaced our oven a few years ago we made sure the new air filter was rated for this class of filter. It was 100% worth it. I just did our quarterly check yesterday and the filter was once again covered in a layer of incredibly fine gray dirt. $100 every three months seems like a fair deal if we don't have it in our lungs. Like the other reviewer, we live in Seattle and just kept the fan going with wildfire smoke for the last few weeks of summer. The air outside was terrible, but…
