Ugly but works well

Most of the problems people have with this docking station are due to Lenovo's poor documentation of its features. It is definitely intended for laptops that are designed for workstations and not regular models. Yes, it doesn't look very nice with cables, but Lenovo offers a docking station mount that improves the situation. Otherwise it works as advertised, although it would be much better if Lenovo provided more detail.

Terrible experience

I've spent a lot of time, many hours getting this to work. I've spent a lot of time on the phone with Lenovo. I've been using it for mic, power, keyboard and mouse for a while. That was excellent. I did this for several months and everything was fine. When I tried to add a video monitor, the computer (Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Hotrod) didn't recognize the monitor. I bought this docking station for the following reasons: 1. Let me run my new Lenovo closed laptop with a large external display, keyboard and mouse.2. Enable fast docking.3. Cleared my desktop of unnecessary wires and cables. What I have: 1. The docking station comes with two large power adapters, you need to use both. The cords aren't long enough to hide supplies from my desk, so the mess takes up about 2 square feet of desk space.2. The connection to the laptop is made with a cable…

The old block failed to sync the monitors, the new one works!

I always had a laptop dock on my desk. It just makes it easier to connect a laptop instead of having to plug and unplug multiple cables when switching to a laptop. My new Thinkpad Carbon X1 Extreme Gen 2 uses Thunderbolt instead of a proprietary docking station, which is why I chose this device. So far it seems to be doing everything I need. I have two monitors hooked up, ethernet, audio cables, and all USB ports are full, including one that goes to a full 10-port USB3 hub. I didn't connect…
