Worked very well on jaw 2x6 with my regular Jane 18v Milwaukee drill. But as soon as I tried on something thicker, the bit slipped out of the bit for me. I was very impressed with the clean cuts through 2 inch jaws. If you don't want to buy a hole punch and holes happen every now and then, by all means buy this one.

Using this 2-1/2" hole saw I drilled several holes in the top board, three 2x4s in my walls. In the attic I have the top of the Drilled wall plate holes to make holes for the network cables.Had used a bit with a lenox drill extension which also worked fine.Use a 1/2" drill and cut a 2x4 through at a time...remove the cut one End cap off the drill bit and cut through the next 2x4....repeat until finished. I was pleasantly surprised at how sharp, fast and smooth the cuts were.

Works like a charm. Great buy considering it comes with a pilot drill. Used it to cut some holes in 1/2 plywood. After some use, I was able to just unplug the connector without curiosity. It seemed that the lighter/slower I made the cut, the more likely it was that I could run the drill for a few seconds after the cut and the plug would fall out (3 times out of 5). High quality product. Will likely purchase other sizes as needed in the future.
